Halloween II
Halloween II is directed by Rob Zombie and the supposedly horror flick is just terrible, nothing more. Rob Zombie committed the first mistake when he re-made the classic Halloween in 2007 and only devils know why he repeated the mistake with Halloween II.
The movie does overfeed the audience with violence and gory scenes. Come on, they have had it enough and how many more sequels does the director take to understand that the audience is over and out with such crap. One would wonder why Rob Zombie is making such remake attempts and why not produce an original work using his own talent and creativity. Wasn’t one Halloween enough that he went on to make another blunder?
Rob Zombie has failed to make a movie with some calibre at this point of his career. Many people might find the movie to be an utter waste of time and money. The most obvious drawback of the film is it lacks the cinematic vision, which was one of the strong elements in Zombie’s earlier movie The Devil’s Rejects. Halloween II definitely does not mark the brilliance of Zombie, he could have certainly done better and kept the audience entertained all through the film.
Zombie’s sheer art to cast cameos could have pulled off the movie to a different level but he just lost that by making a film that not interest the audience at all.

Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane in Halloween II
You might not rate the film as terrible but would have preferred something original and Zombie has all the potential to present a masterpiece but he has wandered into somebody else’s creative field. Anyways, Zombie has at least realised that mindless killings and bloody scenes don’t work after a point of time and so he has introduced flashbacks and visions in the film.
The iconic villain Michael Myers played by Tyler Mane is missing and is presumed to be dead. But he meets his mother played by Sheri Moon Zombie, his younger self and a white horse. The only survivor of the Halloween is Myers sister Laurie Strode who is emotionally disoriented and has made attempts to create a new family with Sheriff Lee Bracket played by Brad Dourif and his daughter.
Even Dr. Sam Loomis played by Malcolm McDowell is as pathetic as Laurie Strode who has taken advantage of his connection to achieve fame and money. Zombie has focussed more on Laurie’s distress once she realises her connection with Myers.
Myers has not displayed any great performance to support the film in any way. The plot makes sense in bits and pieces. There is surprise from Brad Dourif who catches your attention. The production designers have done a convincing job. There are a plenty of gruesome scenes and they do not thrill you at all. They simply disgust you. There might be audience who will enjoy the film or a certain section might just bear it and there are a few scenes that will get appreciation from the horror fans. All and all the movie is just about average.
