Hannah Montana – The movie
Hannah Montana-The Movie is a story about an ordinary girl that is played by Miley Cyrus and the film is sure a glamor variant of the very popular television show, Hannah Montana. So we know how the movie got its title. Hannah seems to be a little feminine with all the required accessories and has tried all tricks to look dignified; she sports a blonde wig, boots and huge earrings. And this fails her to qualify as a role model for her age group.
The movie tries to cater to the younger audience and especially females, as the character Hannah is a 16 year old. But that does not stop guys from watching the movie; they may like the film! The central concept of the movie is very uncomplicated and excellent.
Miley is the usual girl character with an eternal dream of becoming a singer, and at the same time she does not want to miss out the adventures of teenage life. And so she has an understanding with her father (Billy Ray) who is also her real-life dad. In this way she goes to school and does all the things like a normal teenage girl.
At the same time she has the liberty to act as Hannah Montana, which is a secret known to her family and best friend (Emily Osment). So Miley lives in two worlds that she loves to be in. She gets a chance to be an adult in entirely different outfits and performs like a star when she is Hannah Montana.
It is up to the parents to decide if they will allow their children to watch the movie provided they are ok with the idea of a dual life. As a matter of fact the desire to become something and also enjoy the teenage life is a phase in everyone’s life. And whether you actually get to fulfil your dreams depends on person to person.
The motive behind Hannah Montana’s character is to be sensuous and glamorous without having to deal with the actual adult life complications. Hannah Montana- The Movie has deftly portrayed the concept of double-identity and even if your kid is not familiar with the TV show he/she will have no problem in understanding this concept.
Robby Ray does not quite like the idea of his daughter getting clamped into the role of Hannah Montana and he wants Miley to attend her grandmother’s birthday party at Tennessee. Though Miley is not very keen in going she is taken unawares. And there she meets her old schoolmate Travis Brody played by Lucas Hill who is a handsome guy and is working in her granny’s farm.
Director Peter Chelson has made a simple movie though not very exciting. Miley is quite good and sweet. But she looks quite disappointing probably because of her make-up artists. Taylor Swift’s brief appearance makes an impression that kids will not realise instantly they may probably give a thought about her character a few years later. Till then they need to think only about kid’s stuff and there is so much of it to enjoy and have fun.
