Next Day Air

A complicated cocaine-deal comedy film of great spirits directed by Benny Boom is what Next Day Air is about. It’s about the pitfalls of drug dealing lives that is well narrated and represented with perfection. These drug dealers not only use the dialogues but know its consequences as well.

The crux of the film lies in the wrong delivery of an assignment.

The story then revolves around its consequences. Donald Faison stars as the delivery man Leo working in Next Day Air firm. He delivers a cardboard box containing 10 packs of cocaine to a wrong apartment.

The drugs were to be delivered to a couple Yasmin Deliz and Cisco Reyes in apartment no: 302. It was shipped from LA to Philadelphia by a drug lord. Now, this drug mafia is extremely annoyed with the delivery man as he goofed up the assignment for no reason.

The cocaine-packed box is wrongly delivered to some inept bank robbers played by Mike Epps and Wood Harris and Omari Hardwick who then teams up with few men so that the drugs can be sold and they can live a luxurious life with the money.

However, Donald Faison brings his boss to the right apartment this time where he actually delivered the assignment. The drug lord comes with his men to fight out with Faison and finally some 10 men are holed up in a small room sorting things out amongst them.

Next Day AirIt was finally so many armed men all holed up in a small room. All of them not only smoke marijuana but play video games as well while they argue. There are automatic rifles, hand guns and shot guns as well but there isn’t any 3-D X ray shots piercing through human flesh. It is this reason why MPAA has rated this film R. This implies that the movie is punctuated with some violence and there is nothing to get overworked on it.

It is a complicated plot with so many loose threads from different areas, but it is in the film to see as to finally whether the drug lord finally succeeds to track things down or he takes out his anger and frustration on someone else? The credit definitely goes to the Director who knows well how to skillfully intercut the story strands.

So, it is in the film Next Day Air that you will be treated with world’s greatest inept bank robbers, inept delivery person and of course the most reckless and irresponsible drug mafia.

However, the surprise is the nice and hearty laugh when the audience sees Debbie Allen. Debbie portrays the character as the boss of Donald Faison, yes the manager of the delivery company.

Check out at the theaters if you can catch on some laughter in Next Day Air, however, the finale is marked with some grim violence that drags the movie into narrow lanes from where it was difficult to giggle out the ways.
