New York, Aug 5 (IANS) A truck full of instruments belonging to Iggy Pop and The Stooges has been stolen after they performed at a festival in Montreal, Canada. Speaking to the Detroit Free Press, the band’s road manager Eric Fischer said that some of the stolen equipment was “priceless”, reports Contactmusic.com.

The truck was taken from outside the Embassy Suite Hotel in the early hours of Monday morning. Among the items stolen was Mike Watt’s Gibson bass guitar – which he first used while playing in The Minutemen in the 1980s.

“We’re all just gutted. That bass would go in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame some day if we could find it,” Fischer told the paper. Iggy and his band are due to embark on a European tour later this month, which will see them playing ‘Get Loaded’ in London.
